Some Projects for Early 2013

January 18, 2013 Babs

The decorations are all away, the snow has made things pretty (amongst other things!) and we’re raring to get on with the year.

In the spirit of the new year we had a bit of a declutter to kick-start a determined intention to re-use or recycle the ridiculous amount of “stuff” that is tucked away in boxes. I’ve promised myself that all proceeds from things sold on eBay, Amazon, etc goes into my iPad/KitchenAid fund – never has there been such incentive…

And what of Dabble? Well I’ve a few things to restore and upcycle somehow, as well as getting lots of hearts ready to sell for Valentine’s Day.

projectThis small storage cabinet was really not one of my best eBay finds, it turns out, but I’ll relish the chance to do some interesting things with fabric on wood.

And an old lamp base we found in the cellar here is quite lovely – I’m going to hunt down the right pieces to get this working again and either re-cover an old lampshade or buy something to suit it nicely.

Apart from that, both Mary and I are having a go at paper cutting – though I’m not convinced I’ve the patience for this, but we’ll see and both of us will report back.

What else… Lots more sewing and hoops and pin cushions. And exploring my yearning to collect vintage, and maybe even sell some items too. Watch this space …

What are you having a go at this year? Anything new?
