To entice you to visit again, a taste of what we’re looking forward to bringing you in September:
Blackberries – seems we have a bumper crop this year, so out you go to harvest and we’ll bring you some simple ideas for what to do with them.
We’ll also consider things that you can prepare now for Christmas gifts – limoncello and other flavoured liqueurs that are simple but need some time to develop if you want a tipple in the season. It won’t hurt to make the mincemeat too, or at least start soaking the fruit – but I’m rarely that organised, and to be honest I quite like fresh mincemeat anyway.
I’ll have my first “making” posts ready to go live – with the simplest possible instructions (I’m incapable of fiddle and faff), and Mary will be show us how to do things that need a little more attention. I’m also going to tackle the restoration of a lampshade, having bought a lovely old standard lamp on eBay recently, dug out a very old shade, and chosen some wacky fabric to use. This will take me all month to do – a bit scary for me, this one!
There are lots of reviews on their way – a new vintage magazine, some events, suppliers, kits and more. And we’ll be looking for your favourite suppliers around the country or beyond – we cannot possibly have found the best already. Your ideas are always welcome, and if you want to join in, pop an email to hello@dabble.co.uk.
